About Julie Baskin Brooks, Managing Principal (Founder)

Julie Baskin Brooks is an accomplished Human Resource and Organizational Development Executive with experience in Fortune 10  companies. By leveraging her leadership, organizational, analytical and communication skills, Julie has had a progressive career in Consumer Products, Consulting, Financial Services, Foodservice and Office Technology environments. Through her company, Legna & Associates, LLC she leverages her expertise in applying the Diversity and Inclusion lens to Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Change Management, Organizational Effectiveness, Employee Engagement and Employee Development.

Most recently Julie directed Sysco’s Diversity efforts. While at Sysco she launched their first Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council and developed its (first) Diversity Roadmap, Diversity Training Curriculum and Measurement Systems. Julie has a special place in her heart for youth and has developed and delivered a toolkit intended to support children’s appreciation of Diversity (Who am I?, Who are you? and Raising Children in a Diverse World). Julie has held various HR positions at: Sysco, LyondellBassel, IBM, The Human Element, QED, Pearl Meyer & Partners, Xerox, Philip Morris/Kraft Foods, GE Capital and Champion International.  Additionally, Julie is a Corporate Fellow with University of Houston – Downtown and has been an Adjunct Professor at Fairfield University.

Julie is currently pursuing her PhD in Organizational Development and Change at the Fielding Graduate University, has an MS in Organizational Management and HR Development from Manhattanville College and a BA in Math and Philosophy from Mt. Holyoke College. Julie has been a guest speaker at various conferences and workshops including Spelman’s Diversity Conference, ASTD and EEAC. Julie currently serves on the Board of Directors for ESCAPE (Houston, TX) and has previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Convent of Sacred Heart (Greenwich, CT), on the Design Team (Advisory Board) for Parent Leadership Training Institute {PLTI} (Stamford, CT), and on the Board of Directors for: ERC, Inc. (Norwalk, CT), New Neighbors Inc. (Stamford, CT), Stamford’s (Mayoral) Youth Services Bureau (Stamford, CT), Communities in Action (Stamford, CT) and Teddy Bears and Teacups Charity (Fairfield, CT).
